Carol Shelby once said that there is a point at 7000 rpm when everything fades and the only question that matters is “who are you.” Who I am can be described in two words – cars and videogames. My dad was a computer enthusiast, and he always made sure he had the latest hardware for his computer. GPUs, graphics cards, motherboards, you name it. The first video game I ever played was Dave. However, the game that will forever have a place in my heart is Need for Speed’s Underground series. These games allowed me to experience my other passion (albeit in a virtual world) – driving and modifying cars, especially the cars from the JDM era. 

For me, video games are a passion like no other. It helps raise my competitive spirit. Beating the unbeatable boss, clutching the game with your team at intense moments, and landing the perfect ace- I live for these experiences. Video games sharpen your reactions, reasoning, and logical skills, but ultimately, your competitiveness. Also, it’s a perfect way to detox after work. Some say video games trap you in a counterfeit world. I like to think that you find your true self in the virtual world. You can be anyone you want; do anything you like. The possibilities are endless. Want to experience life in the old Wild West? You got it. Wanna live in a world with wizards and elves filled with secrets, mystery and magic? Say no more. For me, it’s the ultimate way to relax after a long day’s work.  

Most of us have had passions and hobbies during our younger days, but as life progresses and our career gains more prominence, we often see our hobbies fading out. Fortunately, I was able to concentrate on both aspects of my life, and I owe that to Mitsogo. Mitsogo takes a unique approach to employee welfare that is rarely observed in this cutthroat competitive world. In such a world, having supportive managers is a boon like no other. Mitsogo recognizes productivity is at its highest when employees are happy and satisfied.  

Ever since the first time I finished the first NFS Hot Pursuit, it has been my dream to buy a 1998 Mk4 Toyota Supra, fit it with a turbocharger and just race it down the streets. To me it is the crème de la crème of JDM cars. The 84 supra, Nissan GT-R (R32/R33), Mazda RX-7 FD3S, and Honda NSX are some of the cars that brought the JDM culture into the mainstream car community. I am certain that with the proper work-life balance, someday, I will make my dream a reality.
